Q. How should I go about selecting the best pool builder for me?
A. Interview your prospective builder carefully. What is his reputation in the community? Do you know a friend or neighbor who has used the same company with good results? How long has your contractor been in business and what is his experience? What is his standing with your local Building Department, the State Department of Consumer Affairs and/or Contractors Board? Is he a member of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP)? If so, is he designated an APSP Certified Building Professional? Are you comfortable that your property will be treated with dignity and respect? At Dal Pino Quality Pools, customer service is the first and foremost requirement for our entire staff.
Q. I receive advertisements in the mail which promise pools at seemingly low prices. Should I really buy a pool like this?
A. You get what you pay for. At Dal Pino Quality Pools, we have learned that the difference between the cost of a great job and a poor job is not very much. Often builders will advertise a super low cost pool to grab the attention of the consumer and "up sell" the advertised pool. Depend on your Dal Pino Quality Pools professional to help you determine a budget and secure financing that is satisfactory to you. We will then design your pool to fit those needs and give you a guaranteed product on which you can depend. A pool is an investment that is built to last the lifetime of your home.
Q. Why do cost estimates vary when the pools seem to be the same?
A. Many factors other than size and depth create the total construction cost of your pool and hardscape. Many of the important factors that affect the cost are not visible on a printed estimate. If craftsmanship, quality of materials, design, underground strength and durability, customer service, prompt construction and outstanding warranties are important to you, then Dal Pino Quality Pools should be your contractor. Dal Pino Quality Pools never submits low introductory estimates with the intent to boost prices later during construction with expensive changes.
Q. What if I have a small or difficult yard to work with?
A. Good builders like Dal Pino Quality Pools can construct pools in all sizes and shapes of yards. Our expert design and engineering staff will handle the most challenging properties. You will be surprised and pleased with our innovative ideas to bring your dreams to life. Before you give up on that small yard or hillside location, contact us for design advice today! Our expertise and judgment are free!
Q. What options are available to add to my pool?
A. Technology changes at unbelievable speed in all phases of our lives and swimming pools are no exceptions. Innovative water treatment options, color lighting, spa products, remote controls, automatic cleaning devices and many other options are available to make your pool ownership easier and more enjoyable. You can also enhance your project with waterfalls, tanning ledges, fountains, vanishing edges or grottos similar to the ones shown in the Water Features area of our gallery. Tell us what you would like to do...and we can show you how to do it. If you would like some ideas, please visit our design room and courtyard display area for inspiration.
Q. How does the design process work?
A. A Dal Pino Quality Pools’ designer will set up a meeting to discuss your pool interests and budget. They will ask you about what you envision in your backyard and how you intend to use the space to help them design the perfect pool for you. After meeting at your home, we ask you to visit us at our design center so that we may show you the many products and features we offer. Prior to the first meeting, you may want to browse through our design gallery to get some ideas of what you'd like in your backyard. You can even use the shopping cart feature to email your favorites to your designer in advance.
Q. Is financing readily available for this type of project?
A. The design and installation of a swimming pool is a "home improvement" and most financial institutions are anxious to loan money for this type of improvement. When completed, your pool project will add substantial value to your property. A well-built pool is also an asset when you decide to sell your home. Another consideration regarding financing is the probability that all of the interest costs on the loan will be tax deductible expenses which helps to reduce the actual cost of the investment. At Dal Pino Quality Pools, we stay constantly in touch with the leading financial institutions in your area and can provide you with information and assistance in obtaining easy financing for your swimming pool project.
Q. What about warranties? Is my investment in a swimming pool well protected?
A. Warranties are very important. At Dal Pino Quality Pools, we provide you with the strongest structural guarantee in the swimming pool industry. We are confident in the product we build and we offer a warranty that backs up our confidence. You should always ask for and compare the warranties when requesting estimates from builders. You should also remember that a warranty is only as good as the company that issues it. Dal Pino Quality Pools has been building pools since 1980 and with the next generation already involved with the company, will be for many more years. We build our pools to last and we will be here to stand behind your swimming pool in the future. Anyone can offer a "lifetime warranty" but you need to be certain that they will be here to honor that warranty if the need should ever arise.
Q. How much work is involved in owning and caring for a swimming pool?
A. With today's conveniences, owning a swimming pool is easy. Water chemistry testing and maintenance, pool cleaning, and even pre-programmed filtration and heating can be automated if you wish to include these options on your construction. Automatic pool cleaners, in-floor cleaning systems and various sanitizing devices make your pool a pleasure to maintain.
Q. Should I consider building my own pool as a homeowner?
A. Never! Even experts encounter challenges during pool construction. Years of experience, knowledge and training will lead to wise solutions which will give a good finished product. At Dal Pino Quality Pools we can offer efficient buying power, swift construction and coordination with all crews so that you have no hassles, no headaches and no cost overruns. Be assured that equipment suppliers and subcontractors will charge you more, as an owner-builder, than the actual value of the work.
Insurance and liability are an enormous and unnecessary risk that you assume when you build your own swimming pool. If the people working on your project do not carry current workers compensation insurance, you as the homeowner & employer must meet this insurance requirement. In addition to the workers compensation insurance, an owner-builder also needs to carry liability insurance. Unfortunately, there is little or no protection against defects and future lawsuits if the pool is built incorrectly.
With a Dal Pino Quality Pool, you are the winner with an outstanding well-built, guaranteed project every time.
Q. How long does it take to build a pool?
A. Depending on the season, it takes approximately 8-12 weeks. Of coarse the size and complexity of a project can change the length of the construction process.
Q. When is the best time to install a pool?
A. Dal Pino Quality Pools builds pools year-round, regardless of the weather. However, the best time to build a pool is before summer. This allows you to have your pool and surrounding landscaping done by the first warm day… and gives your family a full season of fun!
Q. Wow, this looks like a lot of steps to keep track of, who can I call when I have question?
A. You will work closely with our construction coordinator. She will let you know exactly what is happening in your backyard. We will provide you with a written outline of the entire process before we begin so that you know what to expect. Plus, you'll also have our experienced field supervisor who can meet you on-site to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
